A light bulb went off in my head.
I was scrolling along, checking out photos from friends and family when I noticed something similar among all of them. I began to notice smiling faces all wearing t-shirts in many of the photos.
I thought I was noticing the shirts because I sell inspirational t-shirts, but there is something more happening here. I literally, I noticed another friend selling shirts at an event in her recent Facebook update. I also found myself saying "that's a cute shirt, that's a cute shirt" as I was looking at various photos.
So what am I getting at?
WE love t-shirts (in my opinion).
Ok....even if you say I don't love t-shirts you can agree that you have more shirts than you would like.
I know, because I have a lot of t-shirts. Many of them are inspirational shirts; not just from my store, but from places I have visited and participation with organizations.
My husband and children also have tons of t-shirts.
I have come to realize that t-shirts, whether plain, inspirational, or graphic have become a mainstay of a basic wardrobe.
That's why I said "WE love t-shirts".
Here is why.
T-shirts are comfortable. They will keep you cool in the summer. I can just put on a t-shirt and leggings and run to the grocery store. They are convenient.
They remind us of the things we love the most. For example, my 6 year old son loves wrestling and superheros. So, he has tons of Superman shirts, Batman, and all of the WWE wrestlers on shirts.
Think about the things in life you love the most. You possibly have a t-shirt that will remind you of what you love.
A t-shirt can also make a personal statement of belief. These kinds of shirts are usually simple, can come in various colors with sayings just like the ones in the Lattes and Mamma T's Boutique Shop.
Many people love shirts with statements of faith like shirts with scriptures from the Bible. They also like shirts that express how they feel on the inside as in the example of the "Powerful" shirt I designed based on a quote I shared on social media.
Do you like funny and clever tees? I do. These kinds of custom shirts can resonate with others. You will know when a perfect stranger comes up to you and strike up a conversation about the shirt or laugh saying "cool shirt"!
T-shirts are great for advertising a business or a greater cause. I recently heard of a story where a man received a kidney donation because of his shirt. He wore a t-shirt to Disney World advertising his need of a kidney. Someone saw it and decided to see if they were a match.
T-shirts can identify people as being a part of a group. For example, families will come together for a family reunion and each time there is always a shirt printed. My husband has so many Davenport t-shirts from family reunions. They make for great memories.
Great t-shirts can also remind you of the places you have been. I loved getting t-shirts from different States or cities. Although I don't have those shirts anymore they were very nostalgic for me.
So whether you wear t-shirts to support your favorite team or favorite charity they are definitely apart of the pieces we love in our wardrobe.
How much do you love t-shirts?
