15 Quotes About Mom Life That Every Mom Knows All Too Well

Ahhh mom life.

I am sure you moms are shaking your head just reading the title. I have been scrolling through Instagram lately looking at all of the mom life posts. Some are cute photos of children with their beautiful moms. Other posts are quotes that had me wanting to read more.

I felt so connected to these posts that I had to share them on this blog for Lattes and Mamma T's Boutique. If you want to read more of the posts from moms then you can follow their handle on Instagram which I have included in each section.

Let's Begin!

1. What No One Tells New Moms

"No one told me I would be coming home in diapers too." Chrissy Teigen

This quotes is from @peanut saying congratulations to John Legend and Chrissy Teigen on the birth of their brand new baby.

This quote is so true. My mom and other women in my life neglected to tell that I would go home all padded up to say the least after giving birth. This is how mom life begins: with YOU going home in diapers.

Mom Life Quote from Chrissy Teigen No one told me I would be coming home in diapers too.

2. When Silence is Scary

"Some moms hear Laurel, Some Mom hear Yanni some moms hear silence which means their kids are destroying something in the other room." This one is from @babyrabies.

After the Laurel and Yanni thing dies down and you encounter this blog post you might be wondering what the heck Laurel and Yanni means. There is a debate going on this week (5/16/2018) about what a video is saying. Some hear Laurel and others hear Yanni. Well, whether you hear those names there is something scary about hearing silence from your toddler--more scarier than trying to figure out what a robot is saying. They could be doing anything like ripping pages from your favorite book. That has happened to me several times.

In mom life, you earnestly want silence but we all know when a child is silent for too long they are doing something that will make you scream.

3. Grocery Store Vacation

"You know you're a mom when going to the grocery store by yourself is a vacation." This quote is from @erica_momlife.

I don't necessarily like grocery shopping with all three of the children, or period. It can be a vacation and much needed alone time. Sometimes I'm desperate to be by myself.

Mom Life quote you know you're a mom when going to the grocery store by yourself is a vacation.

4. Who's Going to Look Good First

"We can't all look good at the same time. It's either me, the kids, or the house." This is from @grassfedmama.

I thought about it and it is very true. Here's the thing: when I try to get myself together and look good I end up messing up a clean room. Trying to get my children to look good can be messy too. I have two girls and we all share the same hair products which could be everywhere at the same time. I try to clean up as I go but then I just end up sweating. So, I give up. Also, if we are getting ready to go somewhere after a meal, you can forget it! I will just clean up later. Hahaha!

5. For the Mom Who Doesn't Want to Make Dinner

"I hate waiting for mom to make dinner only to remember I AM THE MOM." This quote from @pinkrosemamablog is soooo meeeee.

Some moms like to cook. I like to eat. There are some days I wish my mom would make me dinner. She enjoyed cooking so much. I didn't inherit that trait. However, I can cook. How ironic is that? Mom life (sigh)

6. Parenting is Easy--Yeah Right (In My Sarcastic Voice)

"Parenting is easy, really. You just take your regular weekly schedule before you had kids and you find a way to fit 30,000 hours worth of problem solving, question answering, laundry folding and mind molding it."

There is nothing left to be said. I agree with this from @parenthooding.

Mom life quote about parenting. Parenting is easy, really. You just take your regular weekly schedule before you had kids and you find a way to fit 30,000 hours worth of problem solving, question answering, laundry folding and mind molding it

7. Bed Time Shenanigans

"Me: It's time for bed! My Kids: Yeah, well, ya know, that's just like your opinion man." This from @grownandflown has captured our night time routine perfectly.

My husband complains that it takes 30 minutes to get the kids in bed. I know this to be true for a lot of moms. However, I like to use my mom voice to wrangle them in bed. Down in 10 minutes.

8. Getting Through the Day

"Shoutout to everyone who got through the day without taking a nap. Pulled an all- dayer today. Pretty Rough." This post from @purposefulwife-purposefullife pretty much sums up my days in my mom life. I need a nap but the kids keep going. I usually cherish those days where I can get a nap in. Oh to have a little bit of that young, toddler energy!

9. When You Go Through Four Sets of Furniture

"Welcome to parenthood. Hope you don't love your furniture." I really resonated with this quote from @askatewouldhaveit.

I have gone through four furniture sets in 10 years. I just purchased a new faux leather black sectional. My husband and I discussed how long this furniture will last. And, we have to buy another dining set because the kids have managed to break most of the chairs. I homeschool so we are harder on furniture.

Mom life quote. Welcome to parenthood. Hope you don't love your furniture.

 10. Laundry Never Stops

"Sometimes success is just getting the laundry into the dryer before the mildew sets in." I found myself nodding my head again reading this quote from @snarkytea.

Have you ever washed a load of laundry only to forget due to being distracted with other mom life stuff? This happens all the time. I have adopted a mediation that I say to myself all the time "don't forget the laundry, don't forget the laundry." I literally say that to myself during laundry days. Lord knows I hate to have to start another load of laundry because of stinky mildew clothing.

11. Things We Don't Notice Until It is Too Late

"Don't be so hard on yourself. The mom in E.T. had an alien living in her house for days and she never even noticed." This is one from @firecelizzie was so funny to me.

Do you know how many times the kids did something and I did not notice until it was too late? Too many to count. I have felt bad because I didn't notice my child getting into the hair gel or worse. Now seeing this quote about mom life and not noticing when your child does something crazy, I don't feel so bad.

12. Terrible Twos and Threes

"My daughter isn't sure why she's throwing a tantrum but she's pretty sure it will help." Tantrums can change your life real quick. So I definitely resonated with this quote from @mommyowl1.

Mom life with a toddler is full of tantrums. It's hard to deal with it whenever it happens. But when you look back you know the child is just trying to get their way. It doesn't work, but they don't know it doesn't work.

13. Missing Sippy Cups Coming Up Nasty

"Sippy cups: Making homemade cottage cheese since 1981." I was grossed out at the thought of a spoiled milk, cheese curd, cottage cheese sippy cup from @pishposhbabydotcom. If you find an old sippy cup with old milk in it, get rid of it. Gagging.

14. The Good Bad and The Ugly

"Motherhood is messy, and challenging, and sleepless, and giving, and unbelievably beauty." @breden_kids Yes, mom life is all of this and more.

15. When You're Discouraged

"Whenever you feel discouraged just remember, you are the center of the universe to tiny humans you made from scratch. You're kind of a big deal." @dondolobaby is right. At the end of the day, with all the mom life stuff ensued this is biggest thing to remember: carrying and birthing a child is no easy feat. Everyone does not get the chance to be moms for various reasons.

Mom life quote. Whenever you feel discouraged just remember, you are the center of the universe to tiny humans you made from scratch. You're kind of a big deal

Listen up my fellow mom life moms. These days with our little ones are long and hard. I began to tear up thinking about sending my children into the world after I have poured life and education into them. I will think about these moments that make me roll my eyes with fondness. My oldest will be 11 years old this year. I only have 7 more years to make teach her and make childhood memories. Hold your babies tight because it really does go by fast.
